We're working on setting up our new computer (a Dell refurb anyway). Here is a blast from the past to tide you over (looks like Jay to me)...It does not look like the Guatemalan outback. Where is this dad?

This is at the LTM (Language Training Mission, now MTC) before I left for Guatemala. In the evenings we would have time to talk to an escuchante (listener) who was usually a native speaker. The lady in this photo was from some latin american country. That is her husband. I can't recall their name right now. What is funny is how old I thought this couple were at the time. They look as green as I do.
We had regular Spanish classes and then had to memorize things like dialogs and lessons. Here I am presenting a lesson in Spanish using the flannel board. Cool huh?
Dad
This couple was old not were old.
Dad
Jason, congrats on the new computer, that's pretty exciting. I will take the "don't fear the refurb" advice and investigate refurbs next time we are shopping.
I like the flannel board Dad.
Did you have to memorize the "Senor Gomez" dialogs? James' dad remembers those fondly.
I went with my Dad (89) to the MTC. We were acting like investigaters. I thought it was fun and the missioniaries had to present their lession. The church is true!

Every time I see pictures of dad at that age, I think---- Jay. And, he was so cute! No wonder mom couldn't resist him. :) Congrats on the new computer.
I think the look on his face is pure T-Mc. There's definitely a lot of Jay there too, though.
