Happy Valentines Day Lucy

When we got together in 2009 for a Jackson Christmas, we all committed to doing something, giving something, changing something for the better as a way to honor and remember Lucy. I decided I would donate blood. I am O negative, the universal blood donor, and as you may or may not know only 7% the world is O negative. And did you also know that they often refer to O neg blood as baby blood since they is what they give to babies- again universal donor (does that make me childish? Ha).

So I went that December... and was rejected (we had been to Mexico). I tried to return the following February (it had been a year since Mexico) and... was rejected (I was pregnant). Had the baby, recovered, finished with the iron pills and other special meds due to the hemorrhage, made the appointment... and got sick. I rescheduled again on the next possible day when the boys could play at a friends house and... success!!! I am a HERO! Lucy I finally made it...

on Valentines Day!

Horsing Around...

Blogosphere: Miss us? Sorry- a little too much going on lately. We haven't stopped snapping photos and hope to post a few more as time marches on. In the mean time, here are some fun photos.

Above: Joy found Rachel in this strange situation. The boys told her they wanted to decorate her car seat. She said OK but didn't know what that meant until she came around the corner.

Mandatory bath photo because tomorrow (or was it yesterday) they'll all be too old: (please remember this is our journal and a private blog for family and close friends so please don't re-post private pix like this one...)

Carmel popcorn:
Santa brought Allie a little electronics science experiment. She and Luke put it together and had a fun time playing with it.
Sunday nap:
Great place to read a Clifford book:
Next Sunday nap:

We hope you enjoy our blog- we always enjoy reading comments, living far away makes blogging a great way to stay close.

No School- Day 3

We have had school canceled for the 3rd day in a row- now due to freezing temperatures. Last night I think it was -14º. It has warmed up to a balmy 17º. The buses wouldn't start and people's pipes are bursting all over town (including schools and businesses) . We have a couple of faucets on to a slow drip to keep the water moving. The governor has asked everyone to turn down their thermostats 10º lower to try to conserve the gas. Sandia has the gas shut off and they are sending people home with the hope to conserve enough natural gas to heat rest of the city.

It's cold.

Rigo Called- School is Canceled

It's a snow day! Hip hip hooray!!! What a way to begin February.

Just in case the photo above makes you think "They canceled school for that?!" here are a few shots where there was no tree protection:

Rachel and I stayed inside while Jason (work was delayed 4 hours) and the kids played. I kept trying to get a shot of her smiling while holding the camera away from my face so she wouldn't get distracted by it.

A little visitor outside our kitchen window. Just trying to stay warm and have a little lunch:
Happy February 1st everyone!

Don't forget to check out the post below (I finished it).
