Florida2

We took the big kids on an airboat ride.  This was one of the most fun evenings we had.

I love Wesley's hair here after the ride was over.  His hair is so "exciting"!  This poor butterfly with battered wings did not think the ride was all that exciting though.

As always, the Brevard Zoo was so much fun!  There are more photos on an earlier post.

We went to Disney World

We spent 1 day at Disney World- much to the chagrin of the Disney Co. that really wants you to spend 3 or 4 days there.  We had a ball really!  But there are so many other fun things to do in FL.  Like swim in the pool at the hotel that where we stayed!  That was so fun.  We got a great deal (off season) at a hotel that shuttled us in to Disney.  We were dressed, had eaten, and were ready for the bus by 6:45 AM.
Here we are- ready for a big day!

The shuttle into the park-

We packed a lunch and snacks and went on rides and played and stood in lines (including getting succored into the hour long line to visit Ariel.  We thought it was a ride.  Luke was MAD.  And Rachel had fallen asleep.  Dang it).  Wesley was ready to go "home" to the hotel by 5 or 6 pm that evening.  I gently told him that we had spent a lot of money to be there and that we would never be going back again so we couldn't leave and we had to stay and have lots of fun.  AND then we could go home.  The kids did great in end.  Rachel and Wyatt finally fell asleep by about 10 o'clock in the stroller and the older 3 kids got their second wind.  When we left the park at ONE THIRTY AM we felt satisfied that we had gotten our money's worth!  The kids were kind of excited that they had stayed up that late too!  And we were all completely wiped out the next day.

The next day we slept in and then got up and swam in the pool again.  After we checked out we went to the Orlando Science Center, a children's museum in downtown Orlando and had relaxing time (Jason and I wanted to crawl in the cave and take a nap).  Awesome museum.  I liked it almost as much as Disney.

This photo of Rachel and the boys made me think of another photo- of Allie and the boys.

This tube thingy was a way to experience hurricane force winds.  Pretty fun!

More Florida Photos!

One of the fun Florida activities is horseback riding on the ranch.  This ended up being Luke's actual birthday.  What a way to spend your big day!

Mom and Dad on a little date.  Horseback riding is so fun but I (Joy) still get nervous- they are such big animals.

We had a few small gifts for Luke as well as a few little things for the other kids.

We got to participate in the Campbell's annual Easter Egg Hunt and Potluck dinner that evening too.

A few Florida creatures.

Can you make out the two creatures here?
What else did you expect for a Special Shapes cake in Florida?

Wyatt was already to eat him!
