The Cake

My wife has outdone herself this time. Here is Wesley's first birthday cake.
And this is what he thought of it.
Luke thought it was cool - after all, he got to blow out the candle.

I really can't think of anything to say. Not a thing. Just know that my mouth is agape and I'm saying, "Joe! Quick! Come look at this cake!"

I know- kind of weird and freaky but this is the only birthday he will have with 2 thumbs on ONE hand and I wanted to "celebrate'" one of his unique qualities. :)

We are going to miss his little thumbs.

Stop the madness!

I'm laughing and...feeling something else at the same time (not sure what).

I know I'm horrible with family birthdays. I'm so sorry for not sending cards or gifts. I will get better. I want to get better! Can't believe he's one.

Seriously. I'm STILL laughing.

You've got some serious cake-baking & frosting skills, there JOy! I'm impressed. And I think it's very cool that you really love his 2 thumbs!

That cake is just priceless, when he grows up Wesley will be able to look back at the "Three Thumb Era" as a neat time, and will be able to remember it because of the photos and cake. I'll miss the cute little double thumb, but probably just because he is so darn CUTE !! MOM

What?! I think it is awesome and ingenious and creative and wonderful and I'm sure it was also delicious. You probably were able to feed one more person cake just because of that extra thumb. That should make Wes proud when he's older.

What a way to relish this fun little fact of his! Way to go. I pity the mom who would be embarrassed or try to hide such a cool thing.

That is GREAT!!!!!! I would have never thought to do that, way to go. Heck I don't even make my kids cake I buy them for lots of lame reasons, but hey that's just how it is for now:)

Dallin guessed it. I told him I had to go check out your blog to see Wesley's cake, since you'd said it was unique. He said, "It's probably a cake with a thumb with two heads." I guess he thinks like you do!

Oh. I love it, by the way.
