A Great Saturday

We had one of those great Saturdays when you get to stay together as a family the whole day-- well almost all day. Luke and I did go to a ham radio junk sale in the morning for a power supply and Joy and Allie went to the store late at night for milk (now what is more important)? It was my first time with Wesley and I have to admit I was scared w/o a bottle or Mama. Joy finished planting our garden this morning; we planted a whole section of okra as we loved it so much last year.
On our way to Henry Crespin's 1st birthday party.
We then drove straight to a 4th year b-day party for Angelique Ramirez. Both parties were in parks and both had piƱatas so our kids had a great time. The second also had a "brinca-brinca" (inflated kid jumper) and pony rides.
When Luke saw the ponies, he went crazy for a ride and knew just where to put his legs and hands. Most of the other kids had enough with one ride, Luke and Allie each rode three times (thanks Grandpa Payne and Taylor the equestrian lessons in Florida).
It was a long day for Luke. Here he is taking a break and chatting with his dad incessantly about who knows what (how much he liked the cake)?
If only we could play like this every Saturday...

We did have a fun day! The weather was almost perfect. The only problem was the spring time Albuquerque wind. It was so windy making what would have been perfect temperature cold. After it was all said and done we were glad to be home. Except Allie. She wanted to know who's birthday party we were going to next.

Jay & Carter: Little Henry is my friend Emily's son who parents live in Las Cruces. Her dad (a farmer) and I were talking about the pecan industry in LC which I guess is doing very well. I guess the Chinese and Indian markets are exploding and so they have planted 350 new acres. So I was telling them about you Jay. Anyway, it was really interesting. It made me wonder how to conspire to get JJ to move to NM.

That's so cool Luke knew exactly what to do on that horse. Looks like a fun day down there though!

That last picture of Luke is hilarious. Your garden looks great! Is that a tomato cage in front? How big is that? Did you make it yourself? We still need to put cages around our tomatoes.

Just thinking, that would be a great summer job for teenagers, taking ponies to parties. They could work during the days and have time and money to waste at night.

Looks like a fun day. Congrats on the power supply!

Do you think Luke is the next Payne cowboy in training? :) I am sure uncle Taylor would be proud. Your garden looks great.

Joy, if my okra survives this summer I will be calling you for tips on how to cook it.
