Wednesday we woke up to 8" of snow. There was no delay and school was not canceled (unlike in Dec. when school was canceled with 3"). It was so bad, the school bus chose not to even try and get around in our neighborhood so I took the kids to school (after waiting out in the snow for 20 minutes). A news guy caught me on the way out- here is the link (my 4.37 seconds of fame are at 0:55).

Jason here: I was disappointed in Joy's debut. She could have beat out that last whiny guy on the news clip- no sweat. Joy could have given a bank account for donations or showed frostbitten appendages and demanded an apology from the President. Better luck next time Joy.

It was fun to see this- we hadn't even heard you had snow in Albuquerque last week. GO, JOY !!!
Joy, I'm glad somebody was able to keep her head in all of the snow.
Poor kids standing out there for 30 minutes--were their feet completely frozen?
The school district didn't happen to check east of Tramway (our neighborhood). Just a mile west they had half as much snow as we did so I am assuming they thought everything would be fine. But when school buses are getting in wrecks and can't even make the rounds... well a delay would have been helpful. Oh well. We survived!

Molly and I had to laugh at the one guy complaining about negligence on the part of the school over 8 inches... 8 Inches? What a pleasant snow fall? Have fun walking kids. See you after school.... Funny what we get used to no?
Cool! Hard to imagine that people don't just stop what they are doing and just stare at white stuff falling from the sky! :)
That's hilarious!! nice video op. I wish I would have had a GoPro to film my rally style driving to school after our last storm. (even though Bridgette might not be impressed :) Good Luck!
I CAN'T BELIEVE you in NM have gotten MORE SNOW than us up here in MN (just realized our states' abbreviations are the inverse of each other! ha!)...this has been ONE CRAZY WINTER. Seriously.
Tried to see the clip with no luck.
Just saw it...nice!
That's awesome!! Brrr!
