For the record: You were right. You were all right- all of those who have known Luke and watched him growing up and then lovingly warned us when we found out Wesley was going to be a boy. You all said basically "Uh oh, you are in for it. TWO boys!" I am sure not all two boys are like this. But mine are. At first the instigator was Luke, but Wesley has learned the Ways of the Master.
Case in point: One very very bad day in January, shortly after our return from the Christmas travels, I went into my room to find that all the dirty laundry from the trip and all of the clean and carefully sorted laundry had been piled together into one huge enormous pile and then thrown everywhere! Ugh! That really really grosses me out to have the clean and dirty clothes mixed together. I was rather upset. I didn't take a picture of the huge mess scattered all over the room. Instead I set to work at smelling and separating everything.
This is what happened next:While separating the clothes, the boys went into the living room, ripped every single leaf off the little tree in the purple pot, de-planted (is that a word?) it's baby brother tree and started removing the leaves from my tall tree. No need to mention plant soil all over the newly cleaned carpet. I was beside myself. Too-angry-to-even-scream kind of mad. I sent them to their room where they giggled and played and asked if they could come out 100 times.
It did not end there. Two to three pounds of dry chick peas/garbanzo beans all over the kitchen, down the hall, into their bedroom. Do you realize how easily dry hard garbanzo beans can roll on a wood floor? It is like a thousand mini marbles- they go every where! You can imagine how I felt that night when Jason walked in the door.
That was a bad day.
Within a number of days of that- I walked into the bathroom to find the toilet overflowing with clothes and toys. Never took a picture. According to Luke, it was Wesley's idea.
You just know these two lay in bed and conspire against us at night:
Yes, they sleep in the same bed even though Wesley has his own. They nap together too most of the time (little piece of heaven).
But it is not always fun and games between the two of them. Back in February we got a lot of comments like "I didn't know you had a cat".Almost. His name is Wesley.
Here is a photo from a couple of weeks ago:The scars are still there. They match with the one below his lip that he got when he was 18 months and ran into the fireplace... and the one on his chin when he was 2.
And these next photos could be titled: Why we really need/want to put our backyard back together.
In case you were wondering, I am feeling so much better. Hooray. And thank goodness.
I am just pleased to report that the house has not burned down... yet.
Have a good day!

Birthday Boy
I am grateful my kids are still small. They don't miss the fact that we forget things like the birthday banner, balloons, ice cream, or dinner on their birthday. Once again it was "If I had one more week..." and this time a good excuse too because next week I won't be exhausted and sick (yippee)! Jason stepped in a made one of Luke's favorites- mac n' cheese, from a box. Oh yum. Yes, I feel the same way just typing it. I was trying to finish frosting the cake at the last minute.Considering how I feel, I am pleased with how it turned out. In the end it doesn't matter too much what I really think or feel because Luke loved it!!!
Wesley was helping out with the icing earlier. We had to laugh- looks like Halloween.
It was a quiet evening. Our family friends came over to eat cake and open presents and then off to bed with the kids (who each wanted to bring one toy to bed with them).
Our happy 4 year old boy! And one of his favorite friends!
Special thanks to Shara who I email and called a bunch today about the cake. Most of the ideas and suggestions were not necessarily implemented since it was past 6:45 when I was trying to hurry and frost the thing and still no dinner. I am excited for the next time!

Quick update
We are still here in case you were wondering. I am 13 weeks (3 months in case you wanted a quick calculation) and about 2 weeks away from that magical day when suddenly I feel GREAT again and have a ton of energy and I am no longer laying on the couch wishing I could throw up (and thinking I might at any moment). We will have some catch up to do then. Right now... ya, just not feeling it.

Roar!!!
http://www.dinosaurlive.com/funstuff/
Last week was spring break (and it snowed) but guess what we got to do?! Go see the dinosaurs! It was really really amazing. Other than the fact that I forgot diaper and wipes for Wesley which turned out to be a disaster, but really we had a great time. The boys still play trains every single day and they love cars but they have also really been into dinosaurs. They all have. Allie has been bringing home library books on dinosaurs from school lately so we have been reading a lot about them. The kids loved the show and did not get scared. There was a surprising roar or two that caught us all of guard but that just added to the fun. You really have to check out the link and watch the short video to appreciate what we saw.

Read Carefully!
These are our goofy kids from several Sunday's ago... already for church. I have these pink shoes that I have been saving for Allie. We thought they would look really cute with her dress so we pulled them out. They were still too big but Allie was determined. She stuffed her toes with tissue and when that was not enough she taped them to her feet! You will have to click on the photo below to really appreciate it. So just for that Sunday I let her wear them and then I put them back up.
I know how she feels. I have a few cute things in my closet that are still too big. They don't fit... yet. But it wont' be long and then they will fit just fine. ;o)

Guess WHAT?!
When we woke up Wednesday morning we discovered little tiny footprints going up the wall in the dinning room! They went up the wall and then onto the ceiling and sort of did a circle (danced around maybe?) and then disappeared! The foot prints were small and green and we are pretty sure it was a Leprechaun because when he was upside down on the ceiling a bunch of gold fell out of his pocket! AND it turns out that inside the gold coins was chocolate. Did you have a Leprechaun visit you?

Eight is Great!
Do you know what yesterday was? It was 8 years of being married to my best friend! What a great 8 years! How did we celebrate? We had a mediocre dinner at Souper Salad on what ended up being the $5.99 special (every Tuesday- limited time). That certainly was not our fanciest meal and we certainly have spent a lot more on special occasion dinners before, still we were just happy to be together. Funny how you can spend so much time with someone, live under the same roof, share the same bed and yet still love being with them and talking with them and looking into their eyes (aaawww- little mush for ya). There is just no one I would rather be with.
